The Solomon Islands cacao beans used to make Mamamuti's bespoke buttons are harvested and fermented for 7 days, then sun dried and gently roasted over a low heat, cracked and winnowed. The nibs are then stone ground for over 24 hours and allowed to set as a paste. With the help of The Cacao Ambassador the paste is then transformed into easy to measure buttons, so you have no need to grate or chop your paste before using. This entire process is done by hand in micro batches. The buttons are not tempered to standardise the appearance like in industrial chocolate. Every batch is variable in appearance reflecting the season and the wisdom of nature. The overall tasting notes of berry, plum and rich chocolate and quality are consistent.

Mamamuti, with the help of The Cacao Ambassador, sources this cacao from small cacao farming communities in the Solomon Islands. Your support has a huge impact on these growers, their families and communities. We trade directly, eliminating the need for brokers, which means the farmers have a voice and receive so much more for their labour, skills and service. With your support we can ensure a more equal exchange in monetary abundance.
